I admire & LIKE the fact, that this programmer KEPT good old-fashioned words, to help us navigate this software - I REALLY LIKE IT & APPRECIATE IT! I owned one of the very first mice ever put out by Logitech & I had to re-write their routines for my DOS & beta versions of Norton Desktop for DOS & beta versions of Win95 & Win98 - NOBODY GETS IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! So far, with all of my trials with different versions of this software - this company is really trying to get it right - and doing a very good job at it to! For the person looking for battery-life (?) of the CMOS battery - I have 4 computers (2 PC's & 2 Notebooks - 4 different OS's & 4 different architectures), they ALL came back with accurate info, but only 2 returned info on my CMOS battery(s) - they were the notebooks (Both Dell's) and they had sensors installed - PC's did not. Yes, this is a blast from the past (except the pics).
I was a programmer (started in 1969) and in some ways - I'm still doing it today, & I have found I won't take advice from a programmer who either won't take the time to use spellcheck or is just lazy & doesn't edit his own "typed" answers - BEFORE, posting them for everyone to see (quit picking on Karl - he takes precious time out of his day to give us the benefit of his knowledge, to help us make better 'informed' decisions - Keep it up Karl!). I do want to address a few of the remarks, but first - I installed today's giveaway on a "REAL" Dell Inspiron - Win 8.1 (64 bit) 8Gb RAM & the rest is unnecessary & as with many of the installs in the past - IT WORKS! No slow down, no problems, and I have spent the better part of an hour, trying line by line & no freezing.
